Is it difficult to train my pet to use a pet door?

No. It is usually a quick and easy process. Most cats and dogs learn to use a pet door in under an hour to 3 days. Do not push the pet through the door. Start with propping a panel open and coaxing the pet with a treat. If you do have difficulties after trying for 24 hours please give Mike a call at 404-536-6770

Can my cat use a dog door?

Yes, most cats will use up to a large PlexiDor. You may need to go up in size to keep the top of the pet door high enough for the dog – shoulder height – and the bottom low enough for the cat (approximately 5”).

How do I determine what size dog door to purchase if I have small, medium and large dogs?

The smallest dogs (3-5lbs) may require the dog door opening to be 2-3” off the floor and the largest dog needs room for his shoulders to make it through the door without hitting them on the top of the door frame. If this is the case you may have to buy one door size up for the large dog’s needed height and the small dog’s needing the opening low enough to step in or out of the dog door.

Can I paint my PlexiDor?

Yes. Just prime and paint the pet door.

What kind of warranty does PlexiDor come with?

PlexiDor dog doors come with a Lifetime Warranty and a 90 day money back guarantee. If you aren’t completely satisfied with your purchase, return it and we will refund the purchase price. Labor for repairs is not included in the warranty.

Will I ever need to replace anything on a PlexiDor pet door?

About every 5 to 8 years the industrial weather seal will need to be replaced. One kit will cover both saloon style panels, and it is easy to install. PlexiDor is manufactured in Bradenton, FL, and if you ever have a problem with the door, it is easy to obtain replacement parts.

PlexiDor pet doors can be installed in any door, or walls material. Wall units can be installed in a wall up to 12 inches thick and come with an aluminum tunnel kit that connects the interior and exterior frame. Chances are if you already own another brand of pet door, the existing cut opening can be used to install a PlexiDor with minor modification. Where can I install the PlexiDor® dog door?

PlexiDor® pet doors can be installed in any door, walls, or even a glass door. Wall units can be installed in a wall up to 12 inches thick and come with an aluminum tunnel kit that connects the interior and exterior frame. Chances are if you already own another brand of pet door, the existing cut opening can be used to install a PlexiDor® with minor modification. We also can swap out doors, replacing a full length glass door with a door that is 1⁄2 glass on top and solid on the bottom. This is a more cost efficient process than installing through glass.
